Do you have an inspiring story of how you and your organization are bringing environmental education to students? National Environmental Education Week would like to hear about it! Simply upload your photos and stories to the EE Week Photo Blog. Your photo blog can be about activities inside or outside the classroom, before, during or after EE Week.
The EE Week Photo Blog Contest -- which runs from April 1 through May 31, 2010 -- is open to individuals affiliated with a school or organization providing K-12 educationl programs. Photo Blog Contest applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid email address, and be residents of the United States.
Each photo blog entry must include a photograph and accompanying text no longer than 1,500 characters that clearly describes the environmental education activity showcased in the photo. Release forms are required for each identifiable person in a photo. Entries will be judged on the quality of the photograph and blog, visual appeal, the level of success and creativity that was achieved in bringing environmental education to the students and the photo's inspirational value.
NEEF is committed to protecting the privacy of children. For that reason, we request that blog submissions do not contain the name(s) or other identifying information of any minors. NEEF reserves the right to disqualify any submission that violates the Contest Rules, Privacy Policy, or Terms of Use.
NEEF will review all submissions, post all eligible submissions to the blog, and award the top three entrant organizations with the following:
- First Place: $149.99 Ultra Flip Video Camcorder and 30 copies of National Geographic Explorer Magazine at $106.50;
- Second Place: $149.99 Ultra Flip Video Camcorder and $50 gift certificate to Acorn Naturalists; and
- Third Place: $149.99 Ultra Flip Video Camcorder.
Multiple submissions are accepted, however, an individual entrant will only be eligible to be awarded one winning prize. The 2010 contest period will run from April 1, 2010 through May 31, 2010.
